At Bonnie Brae Croft, the food we grow and raise is a natural extension of our crofting life on the Isle of Skye - honest, seasonal and shaped by the rhythms of the land. Our hardy native livestock help us produce high-quality lamb and hogget, while our hens and ducks provide fresh free-range eggs every day, often available in our wee honesty box at the croft gate. Throughout the year we also harvest home-grown vegetables, fruit and honey from our busy bees, all nurtured in Skye’s wild, ever-changing weather. Every item we produce reflects our commitment to sustainable, small-scale crofting and the simple joy of living close to nature. We take pride in producing food that is fresh, ethical and deeply rooted in the landscape around us. Our lamb and hogget come from hardy Hebridean sheep raised slowly and naturally on rough grazing, resulting in rich, flavourful meat with a low environmental footprint. Our hens and ducks provide a daily supply of free-range eggs, while our bees transform Skye’s wildflowers into small-batch honey harvested with care. Through the seasons we also grow a variety of vegetables and fruits, using low-impact methods that respect the soil and the island’s changeable weather. Every part of our produce reflects our commitment to sustainable crofting - working with the land, not against it, supporting biodiversity, and celebrating the simple, nourishing food that a small croft can provide.
